Removing from Grill fascia?

Ive searched through the threads but havent found a defintive answer to how to remove the front grill chrome fascia from a 2011 Laredo.

I have been able to play around and pry the top edges off (apparently 2 self latching tabs) but am getting nervous with the tension as I move down the sides and bottom.

Any advice would be very welcomed.

Thanks

Re: Removing from Grill fascia?

No! use flat screwdriver. remove seven caps, then shove a screwdriver between the fascia and the removable part that you want to separate. there plastic latches. Be carefull!

Re: Removing from Grill fascia?

Hi - since you seem to be one of the few that has done this this can you clarify?

Which 7 caps are you referring to? There is a top black cover when looking down at the top of the grill with the hood up, thats easy to pry up (held by six inserts...)

then there are silver tabs along the top and bottom edges of the grill (as well as body colored tabs that appear to hold the front bumper in place)...i assume those holds the chrome facia into the front...are those the tabs that need to be depressed?

and if so, does the grill just then lift straight out? it seems to also be retained along the sides at some point.

thanks again in advance for any other pointers.

Jeff

Re: Removing from Grill fascia?

Thanks. I finally man'd up and yanked the chrome fascia.

Turns out to be super easy..it's literally just clipped into the black grill via a set of barbed clips along the top and bottom so, yup, once you start wiggling it out (I helpd the first few clips out with pushing from behind with a combo of my fingers and a small blunt screwdriver to provide clearence for the barbed ends) super carefully and slowly it pops right off...it takes quite a bit of tug force but come right out.

Im plasti dipping it now..

Hope that helps others who were wondering.
