Booyah.

I spoke with Scott a couple days ago, and he will be doing the license plate brow for me, in Stone White. The first brow was scratched by the dealership I purchased from when they removed the label by the lock button. Replacement brow was scratched during installation by another dealership, so just want something that looks good and is serviceable. Dealing with Scott so far has been very easy and I know he will make it look right.

That looks awesome! Yo....that sticker by the lock button is a mother-father! What a pain in the ass to remove! Right on the chrome? Are you serious? And I have to remove it? It sucked big time yo.

Re: Removing liftgate chrome strip

I know so many people who have had their license brows scratched by the dealerships or even by themselves, trying to remove a sticker with too much adhesive. Just a poor afterthought by Jeep. Scott is my best option to repair the damage since no one around here has a clue how to treat plastic pieces dipped in chrome!

Re: Removing liftgate chrome strip

Everyone states that painting chrome will eventually peel, has anyone had problems painting their chrome?

^No issues here though it's only been 4 months. Ants818, very sharp wheelset.

Re: Removing liftgate chrome strip

Anyone have any thoughts on how difficult it might be to fabricate a piece of aluminum (gauge, thickness, shaping, etc.) to replace the plastic strip, eliminating the Jeep logo?

Re: Removing liftgate chrome strip

Scott was nice enough to send an emailed pic of the rear license plate brow, that he acid etched, then painted a base coat in Stone White, then clear coated to replace the chrome dipped scratched original. I'll put another picture up once I receive it here and get it put back on the 2012 GC Overland. He also did black highlighting around the chrome Jeep logo, looks great to me, exactly what Scott & I had talked about. Thanks Scott!
