Re: Replacing chrome door strips with SRT8 GC badges

It's an easy install and I think it looks great.
I did it to mine.

Here's some pics I posted in another thread;
DVD's in, Chrome strip off!

Re: Replacing chrome door strips with SRT8 GC badges

is there any trick to installing the GC letters? for example, should i remove the wax first? is there any trick to lining them up?

any tips would be appreciate as i'm prone to screwing these types of things up. i'm taking my jeep in to the dealer on monday to take care of a few things and thought about just having them install the letters, but then that seemed lame and maybe they wouldn't get the letters lined up either.

thanks!

Yes, definitely lame. Probably the easiest mod you can do. I just eyeballed mine, but you could just use painters tape to line the letter strip. Expose the sticky side and align to the tape. Firmly press, then, slowly peel off the plastic stuck to the letter face & remove the tape.

yes, lame - but in my defense, i am female. i did successfully take off the chrome strips unaided - was very proud of myself for that.

i'll give it a shot and maybe use the painters tape.

thanks!

Impressive indeed, but don't sell yourself short. Good luck!
