Thanks for clarifying. I was against the copper/bronze look at first but it def. is growing on me a lot.

Yeah same here. I guess I am just not used to seeing it.

Re: Replacing copper trim on MY14 overland with silver trim

In the Summit interior photos on jeep.com, the Jeep Brown interior clearly has the copper trim and the black interior clearly has "silver". There was a video link posted awhile back...probably in the features thread...that had a Jeep representative actively discussing the copper trim innovation for that new interior.

If you scroll through all the pictures you can see that the one you are referring to is the summit black interior, which does have the sliver trim as i pointed out. However, on that page, under the dashboard shots section. Dot 1 is the summit black interior with silver trim. Dots 5, 7 and 8 are the black interior for overland, limited and laredo respectively and you can see the copper trim clearly on them.

Re: Replacing copper trim on MY14 overland with silver trim

I was referring specifically to the second picture which is Jeep Brown--that's copper. That other trim you mention on the Overland, Limited an Laredo is identical to my MY12...it's silver, but the paint has a slight bronze hue when the light hits it a certain way.

Jeep Grand Cherokee WK2 - 2011 Grand Cherokee interior describes a "slight gold hue" for the Laredo and Limited and only uses the word copper with the Summit, although the photos at Jeep.com show silver with the black. Silver is referenced in the Overland description.

Please believe me, I'm only trying to help clarify what has been told to us by both the insiders here at JG as well as from other references. The "copper" really is unique to the Summit.

Fair enough. I did not know you were comparing it to your MY12 as we were talking about MY14 and the trim color it has on each model with the black interior. I was just going on what I have seen from test drives and pictures of the MY14.

Yes, that "slight gold tone" changes as much as many of the paint colors do in different kinds of light!

I did notice that. Ultimately i would have wanted the sliver one but its a compromise I am willing to make, for now at least.

that lower trim on the steering wheel can be swapped FYI. Its just bolted on. So you will not have to swap the entire steering wheel...just swap the bronze part for the silver part.

Thanks Scott! That is good news. Im sure a couple of months down the road I will get to swapping it. I was just not sure I wanted to buy a new steering wheel just for a little piece of trim. Now i just need to figure out how to get the center console pieces to come off. Hopeuflly its not too difficult.
