Not what you are going to want to hear. They changed it. Found one Summit that had silver trim but it had an earlier vin. Definitely disapointing to specifically order something just to have it changed upon delivery.

bad decision in my opinion, Jeep should have left the Summit silver and changed all trim levels to silver trim.

Re: Replacing copper trim on MY14 overland with silver trim

Well I have to say it looks nice in person. Especially after seeing the alternative the muted color looks more refined. The problem for me is it just was not what I expected. I am going to give it a little bit and see how it settles with me. The parts are easy enough to pull and paint if need be. If I do pull and paint I would probably do a darker gun metal grey instead of silver anyway.

Yeah, keep us updated if you decide to do that. I am curious how difficult it would be to paint, or have painted.

Re: Replacing copper trim on MY14 overland with silver trim

Hi all. Newbie here from the uk. About to take delivery of a new overland (diesel of course) with the horrible bronze interior. Almost decided to buy previous (2011) model just to get the silver interior but the new other tweaks swung it for me.
This will be my 3rd GC.
Anyway - I think a respray in a graphite type colour would look awesome.
Has anyone done a guide yet on removing all the bronze trim pieces?
I think the actual paint piece should be easy.
Thanks in advance.

I agree and think the spray in graphite would be perfect. I searched around and was not able to find anyone who could do it. I have since gotten over my issue with the bronze/copper ugliness. Now my issues are beyond the cosmetics....variable valve timing on the engine, horribly jerky transmission (8spd gas), and tempermental uconnect....good luck with your new car. I hope it performs better for you than mine has for me...

Re: Replacing copper trim on MY14 overland with silver trim

Jim's note of clarity didn't seem to get through, so I think it's worth repeating.

The trim in the Overland that many are referring to as "copper" or "bronze" is actually chrome, though it does have a finish intended to take on a warm "golden hue" in some lighting conditions. It is much lighter and has less color variation than the actual copper used in the Summit with brown interior.

Re: Replacing copper trim on MY14 overland with silver trim

Hmmm. I have tested a 2012 overland with the silver interior and it is silver as far as I can tell.
I have also tested a limited in 2014 and the interior is defo not silver under any circumstances - call it what you like (bronze, copper, golden hue) but it's not silver. From what I can tell (but not confirmed yet) the overland has the same colour.
I just think it looks a bit cheap to be honest.
Some paint or even carbon wrap could be a big improvement.
Carbon wrap could be a good solution because this could be done with some pieces in situ - especially the piece around the gear shifter.
Should be picking the car up in Saturday. I will confirm interior colours post that!
