Nice, thanks! and yeah the Tritons are amazing! When I walk up to my Jeep from behind I'll manually unlock on the fob just to see the Tritons flash a couple times. They never cease to amaze me at the intensity and deep red color. You'll love them!
Install requires a little time and work, but not because the system is complicated, it's because there is no easy place to mount stuff. I have a revised way I installed them in my new High Altitude vs how I originally did it in my 2014 Summit. I like the new install much better. I think I wrote a brief install update in my V3 thread if you wanna check it out. Basically, it involves installing and mounting the main parts from UNDER the rear of the vehicle. You access this area from under the rear near the mufflers. It required lengthening two of the wires that go to the LED bulb. Reason for all of this is because it is very difficult to work the parts down into the bumper from the very small opening under the tail light, plus it's nice to have things properly secured and you do not need to attach anything to the tail lamp housing with this new method.

How much for those bulbs and from where? Looks good. How long for the install?

I got them from xenondepot price came out to be 92 shipped or something like that. By no means cheap for bulbs that are on for maybe 5 seconds a day lol. They were on sale and had free shipping. So if this deals are no longer they could be even more expensive. They look cool though!

They are really cool and I'm gonna look for the deal that you got. Why those and not any others on the market?

Well if you read early on in my thread I did have other bulbs but I was t happy because the slight difference in color. The reason they are different is because our reverse uses two different bulb types (921 and 7440). And because of this I wasn't able to by same brands. I originally bought the Philips 921 which were gray, but they don't make a marching 7440 so I mix and matched brands and output color was slightly different. With the Putco they offer both bulb types and they are perfect.

Re: Reverse LED question with pictures.

I have a bulb out and need to replace and have been reading about the different brands of LEDs folks have been trying. So are the puteco 921 inner
and puteco 7440 outer a good bright plug and play combo people have been settling on for LED reverse lights? or any other newer recommendations?

Are there any drop in plug and play options for the 3157 turn bulb? not going to do the turn bulbs if they need modules mounted or anything, not looking for a project just drop ins.

Re: Reverse LED question with pictures.

The putco leds for reverse look good to me. Not sure if there is anything newer.

For the brake lights/turn signals (3157) I am not aware of a plug and play solution as the canbus error cancelers are required.

You can use a 7443 bulb in a 7440 socket, but it will use the 'low' circuit of the bulb, not the 'high' circuit.

A 7443 bulb has 2 filaments, high (brake) and low (tail/marker), usually 25 and 5 watts.

A 7440 bulb has a single filament @ 21watts

So if you use a 7443 LED bulb in a 7440 socket, you would get the 'low' circuit and it wouldn't be very bright.

You are better off looking for a specific 7440/W21W LED bulb that can be distinguished by having a single wire on each side of the bulb base. A 7443 bulb as 2 wires on each side of the bulb base.

I have the Phillips Vision 921 white LED bulbs in my tailgate reverse sockets:

Haven't decided yet what I'm going to use for the main reverse lights.
These look promising for almost half of the Putco LEDs:
https://www.amazon.com/JDM-ASTAR-Ext...dp/B00XB96OSO/
JDM ASTAR seems to have pretty high satisfaction with their LED bulbs.

Re: Reverse LED question with pictures.

Xenon Depot is having a sale with the putco 921s for $46 a pair and the 7440s are $50 a pair shipped. still pricey but better than some places wanting $72 a pair.
