RockY Road Skid Plates

How do the Rocky Road Skid Plates compare to the Mopar ones?

Re: RockY Road Skid Plates

Mopar has three different skid plates, ones for the 1) transfer case 2) front axle and 3) fuel tanks

These Rocky Road plates are for the Fuel line and fuel tanks... so really the Fuel tank skids are the only thing common between them.

Re: RockY Road Skid Plates

Thanks for the info. What is the HD replacement skid plate? I don't see the fuel line skid plate for sale. Also will the fuel line skid plate work with fuel tank plate?

HD = Heavy Duty. That is the fuel line skidplate. You currently have a plastic one from the factory. This replacement is steel. The picture of it is on the page in the upper left.

The fuel tank skid plates are shown on the bottom right - there's two, one for each side.

Yes you can buy and use all three together and even get a $20 discount.

Re: RockY Road Skid Plates

Thanks starscream for the info. I plan to order the fuel line skid plate since I already ordered the factory skid plates.

Re: RockY Road Skid Plates

So if I have read this thread correctly the RR skids protect the fuel lines (That the OEM skid package does not) & are an upgrade to the OEM fuel tank skids.

They do not replace either of the other OEM skids. Is that correct?

Not 100% correct - I believe all WK2s come with fuel line skid plate from the factory, both with and without the off-road package, but it's just made from plastic either way. The RR plate is metal and I would consider that an upgrade.

I don't know if the RR fuel tank skids are considered an upgrade to the Mopar fuel tank skids. I haven't seen both in person to compare.

The other Mopar skids (for front axle and trans case), there is no RR equivalent.
