No regrets other than can't really clean or wax the roof under the rack well but I do prefer how it is fully integrated with its own rails and that it is attached to the roof rather than sitting on top of separate bars.

For cleaning, on my last car I had a rack and used something like this, a telescoping mop handle. It did a decent job - Telescoping Car Wash Mop. Waxing was another issue, though. Not easy.

Okay, now I am very strongly leaning to Gobi. It figures that the one I want would be the most expensive. I'll give them a call. My last car payment is in April, so I'll pull the trigger after that.

This has been a long journey for a rack, delayed and complicated by the lemon law replacement of my 2014. It is coming together, though.

Yep, that yellow Hummer is the same one they let me climb up on and pull, push, shake, etc. That was very nice of them!

The rack was SOLID, too.

Re: Roof basket with off road lighting

I'm near Crater Lake up in Oregon. Last night after dinner at a local spot, out in the parking lot as we were leaving there was a white TRD 4Runner with a Gobi rack.

It's 'a 'sign'.

Gobis aren't all that common on the west coast. I got to show it to my wife, her first time to see one in the wild, and we walked all around it. The owner was nowhere to be seen and presumably in the restaurant. She liked it, and she is getting prepared for the sticker shock. But, as she said, we've used our racks all the time, and we'll put our next one to good use, too, for many many years. She likes the integrated lights, too - none were on the 4Runner but BigCat I showed her your pictures, especially this one from your album:
Jeep Garage - Jeep Forum - BigCat's Album: Garage - Picture.

I'll be calling Gobi soon.

Re: Roof basket with off road lighting

It does help when the wife is onboard too. My wife hated the tall look and branch catching boxyness(sp?) of add on racks and so did I. The Gobi just seems to flow with the Grands lines better. It has a larger platform and greater weight limits than comparable baskets too.
I don't think either of you will be disappointed with a Gobi. Good Luck!
