Re: Roof rack recommendations?

I have the Mopars. They're made by Thule. I haven't used them for anything yet though. When I bought mine, they were on and I didn't have the key to take them off. THey didn't have any appreciable wind noise while on though.

Thule was very helpful in getting a key for them however.

Arrived and installed on Friday.

The bars are indeed clones (or possibly the actual model from the Chinese manufacturer) of the OEM Mopars. Just missing the Mopar label.

The bike carrier is a clone of the Thule Criterium 598 (or the actual product from a Chinese factory).

EDIT: While the brackets included with the bike carrier are too small for the new OEM Aero load/cross bars, the carrier comes with T-Track/T-Slot hardware as well. This T-Track hardware slots into the T-Track on the OEM bars (yes, there is a T-track, just not listed as a feature of these bars).

The bike carrier is a clone of the Thule Criterium 598 (or the actual product from a Chinese factory) . Unfortunately, the mounting brackets are too small for most factory OEM bars.

Thule makes a kit that mounts to the OEM bars, provides an offset, then uses a smaller Thule bar. Overall, a rather weak kludge as the offset brackets are made of plastic.

If you need pictures, I have some, but the items look and work just like the "branded" originals.
Pictures would be great. Thanks for the readout.

Awesome, thanks for the pics. Looks like ill be going with those rather than the Mopars. Will likely only be using them for skis and nothing particularly heavy.

Re: Roof rack recommendations?

If you someone is willing to measure...what is the maximum span (front to back) that you can get between your bars. They look pretty close together. It also looks like the factory side rails don't give you much fore aft space.

thanks

Re: Roof rack recommendations?

If you end up getting a box, I picked up a Thule Atlantis 1800 box for basically nothing used and it fits great with an inch or so between the box and the lift gate when opened. The only issue is that it bends my antenna but thats life I can live with it.

@DirtyDuc83

I've done some "ret-conning" of my posts...

Turns out there is a T-track in the OEM bars, so my bike carrier will work with them after all.

Re: Roof rack recommendations?

Bars arrived and they look good...but are missing the labels to determine which bar goes in front and which one goes to the rear. Any chance you could measure for me and let me know if you have the long or short bar in the front?

Other than that, for $80 they look great.

Link to instructions on JustforJeeps.com.

These were posted in another thread, but I can't find it just now. My recollection is the long bar is in front. The rear bar has a bit of a "bow" to it.

EDIT: Found this thread

Looks good, is there a kayak holder option?

For the OEM-style bars, any Thule carrier that accepts a T-track/T-slot adapter kit will work. Probably others as well, as the Whispbar bars also have a T-track.
