RRO bumper bar/brush bar

Thinking about adding the RRO bumper combo without the winch. I know a few on here have this setup with the winch. I'm just wondering how much room there is for mounting lights. In their picture, they show the rectangular lights. I would prefer to mount a light bar and need to know how wide I can go? 20" Rigid E2, or PIAA 18" RF18 would be great, just not sure if that can be done.

Also interested in the same thing, would love to get a curved 30" on a bar on the front.

Re: RRO bumper bar/brush bar

I've been hearing that these bumper bars cause more harm than good... This is coming from body shop owners and mechanics. Unless there's a different setup with the new jeeps?

What type of harm would that be? I'd like to hear as much as possible, good and bad before going through with the installation.

The two problems that I heard about when considering this for my Cherokee were problems with the sensors in the bumper if you have technology options. I also heard there are problems with the air bag sensors not getting set off in the event of an accident.

Don't have any technology packages to worry about. I'm not sure I buy that about the airbags, I don't see the force of an impact being much different with the bar. But, thanks.

This is just what I was "told" by a few shop owners. I guess it depends on the brand/quality of the bar itself? If someone taps your car, it can cause damage to the bumper (guess if its connected wrong).

Some insurance companies will say that the bar caused more harm, resulting in claim/insurance issues.

If involved in an accident, it's just another piece of metal that can be sent flying towards you or someone else...

I personally like them! Just want to clarify the insurance stuff I've read online. Unless someone here can provide additional info.

Oh, you read it on the Internet...must be true...LOL.

The RRO seems like a very well enginered and built product. The ccompany has a pretty solid reputation as well. Guess I'll find out, ordered it last night.

Re: RRO bumper bar/brush bar

The issue i have seen is when you are in what would have been a minor bump. This is especially true with those decorative(as far as im concerned) chrome bars that mount under bumper, and curver out all the way up to the headlights, with bars "protecting" the lights. So what would have bene a tap on your bumper with a little scuff, turns into bent fancy chrome brush gaurd, with two broken headlights, and damaged upper grill area.

Re: RRO bumper bar/brush bar

What about using an LED light strip instead? They are quickly replacing standard aux lights on the JKs
