Would you guys mind showing a few up close shots so I can see what you did with the adhesive and how it looks? If it looks better I might give it a try.

Nice Ride Desertdr, they look fitted as well on your ride - Here is the link for the 3m product - I did a test prior to using it just to be sure it was removable via the dental floss method just in case, it's perfect for the rubber seal that never can't go entirely flush with the molding - Not bad boards for $299.00

Thanks to Chunderboy for his advise on the brackets, saved lots of time while keeping my sanity in check.
Glad it all worked out. And nice looking ride btw.

Re: Running boards

Looking at getting these. Any wind-noise at highway speed? I have no experience with running-boards, as this is my first vehicle with this amount of ground-clearance.

Re: Running boards

So, I apologize for not having read through the entire thread -- it's quite long, perhaps this has been brought up before.

But I'm curious if anyone gives this disclaimer in the owners manual any credence whatsoever:

Quote:
Modifications to any part of the air bag system could cause it to fail when you need it. You could be injured if the air bag system is not there to protect you. Do not modify the components or wiring, including adding any kind of badges or stickers to the steering wheel hub trim cover or the upper right side of the instrument panel. Do not modify the front bumper, vehicle body structure, or add aftermarket side steps or running boards.
(Emphasis mine.)

That's on page 80 of the 2014 manual.

I believe that is stated bc (if I am correct) there is a wiring harness that needs to be moved temporarily to install the brackets on the passenger side. Not exactly sure what the wiring harness is to, but I think that is the reason.

No wiring had to be moved when I did mine. Also, Jeep sells and installs running boards themself. Don't think its an issue. People are overthinking this.

I had to take down a plastic wire housing on the passenger side when I installed my brackets. It was a few nuts, no big deal.

Was it just a temporary thing and you reinstalled the wiring harness after the boards were on?

That warning in manual is little scary.

Curious how easy/ hard this install is for someone moderately handy? Are you able to get under side of truck truck to work without ramps or jacks?

I think it depends on what brand boards you have. The wire runs along the passenger side tight to the bottom. My brackets straddled over the wiring with plenty of clearance. Some mount tight where the wires are though.
