You should see my other post about a trick to get them installed. Literally saved myself an hour or two on installation.

Yes, I read your other post and I tried that at first but wouldn't work for me.

Re: Running boards

about to install these ionics... one board was in a clear bag, the other in a green one... does it matter passenger side vs driver? The instructions don't specify. Prob doesn't really matter... Thoughts?

Re: Running boards

Ok. If you look at the instructions there is a slight difference when it comes to the length on the rubber end caps. I forget which one is shorter (the front or back cap) but if you look closely you can tell. If you want pm me your phone and I can give you a talk on

Re: Running boards

short story is i plasti dipped the chrome edge. just finished installed driver side, took me way too long. was finding tools, extensions, etc. Needed a deep 18 socket and didn't have one, had to improvise with creative use of extensions.

hopefully now passenger side won't take me as long. goal is under 2 hours. lol im slow. here are some teaser pics, will post better shots later. thanks to all here that went before me and posted up! CB you were prolly the first with these i think, haha.

Re: Running boards

haha, wow. will check that out. i actually also had plasti dipped something else over the weekend which gave me more motivation to do the boards as well. Thinking to make a thread for it once everything is said and done.

Plasti dipped the rear chrome bar on liftgate, and changed reverse bulbs to white.

Edit: Just saw your thread and your plan for the rear chrome brow. awesome!

On the liftgate, I was thinking about just chroming the word "Jeep" and leaving the rest chrome while dipping the front Jeep on the hood and the grill. Along with the steps. We shall see how it turns out
