Re: Running boards

I see a newer Liberty at my work. It looks to have the same (size) pathetic Mopar Step Bars as us. The step is about 3" wide at best.

Re: Running boards

i got a response back from Just for Jeeps. He is estimating December. Still no pictures or estimate on weight for shipping costs. After waiting over 20 months, I hope they are REALLY nice.
My wife if 5'1". If Chrysler can't come through, I'll need to trade for something that does have a factory running board option.

I don't know just by looking, but according to the press release for the Trailhawk they are specially designed rock rails only available on the Trailhawk. I would think Mopar will make them available to buy though too.

Re: Running boards

I'm still hoping for something that looks like the BMW X5 or Mercedes GL boards, but we may all be optimistic they ever become available...

Re: Running boards

I like the looks of the BMW boards. However, they don't appear to assist in entry for height-challenged people. They are pretty much level with the bottom of the door -- which looks nice, but it's still a high step-in. I see an X6 at my work. Maybe that's only the case in that model?

Re: Running boards

I heard from my parts guy today. Now the story goes like this; Chrysler has changed up the part number because they did not like the test fit.
So apparently there is a new part now and has an October release date.
These guys, (Chrysler) sound like a bunch of monkeys.... Like how hard is it to make a set of running boards for a vehicle that is in the third model year now.

Re: Running boards

Forget about it.
I think they planed on making them but must be having a fitment problem.
Like you said 3rd model year and none, thats how its gonna stay...pray for the after- market.

Re: Running boards

This is exactly what I want. I see the link over at Mopar Super Center now says Dec 2012 (but it might be listing the old part number).

Then I have to wait to get them over here in Aus.

In the mean time I can get the tow bar and front park sensors fitted.

Not sure if they're like these?
