Do you think anyone will produce a running board like the ones on the X4 4.8? Love the look of those but not sure how they would look with the chrome accents on the wk2

Running boards are listed in the mopar accessory book. I haven't seen a WK2 with them installed yet, so im not sure how good they would look instaleld.

Until a molded running board is on the market...

Did someone of you purchase and install the Mopar rock boards? They could function as running board alternative and look much more streamlined than the tubular ones. Not shure how much they cost?

Here some pictures, one from the Original Mopar Accessories Catalog and one from the Sema Off Road.

So the molded running boards with chrome inserts are supposed to be available this month (October 2011) from mopar?
Does anyone have a pic of them or have them on order that can post up a pic?
When my 2012 comes in at the end of November I wanna have my dealer put them on before I pick it up, but wanna see an actual pic of them before I give him the go ahead.

I just placed an order for the OEM molded running boards with chrome inserts from the parts department. I instructed them to mount them when my Overland arrives so they are ready when I come to pickup my Jeep.
I will post some pics when said vehicle arrives... hopefully before the end of November.

sorry for the bad pics. i took them right after i finished and never got outside to take better ones. one complaint is the plastic for the front for step isn't quite big enough. my wife keeps stepping on the metal because that's where her foot naturally wants to go. but, they are a lot cheaper and should give my paint a little protection from low doors in parking lots. I'd probably go with the black mopar steps above next time. I like the chrome look, but the chrome mopar ones just don't look right to me, and cost a fortune.

Thought I would bump this thread as I am hopping someone has seen what these look like by now. I just contacted a dealership to find out about ordering them and asked if they have a picture of them. I am now waiting to hear back. After seeing the paint damage on one of these threads from driving in the snow/ice I am a little concerned about the up coming winter and I don't like mud flaps. I just got a quote for clear bra on the rocker panels and they wanted $300 and $900 if I wanted the front bumper and the leading edge of the hood. Seems like a lot of money for a sticker.

I will post a pic as soon as my Overland arrives. My dealer is putting them on as soon as my Jeep lands. It's now 7 weeks since my order. I'm now told the delay is affected by the V6 engine recall.

I bet they will look very similar to the molded running boards for the WK. I like them, and have them on mine. I rarely ever see anyone with them on the road, and only found one photo of them online before ordering.

I can't wait to see them when one of you guys get them!

Here's a couple pictures of them on my WK to get an idea, I'm sure they will be a lot nicer for the WK2 but molded like mine.
