I said I was part of jeep garage forum and basically said ok we can do $300. If anyone wants the sales guy contact information I am sure he will match the price.

Re: Running boards

I just ordered the Ionics for my 2011 Overland, even though they say not for Overland models. Auto Customs said Overlands have "extra trim" that makes them not compatible.
Sounds like misinformation, as I believe there is no difference as it related to compatibility for these boards. Am i correct in assuming they will work?
Thanks

Re: Running boards

Are these running boards for looks, or one can step on it?

Haven't installed mine yet. But both.

Re: Running boards

Running boards Installed! Took about 2 hours. Passenger side took a little while longer as you have to remove a few screws to get some slack on the wire in the way. same 10mm socket will do the trick.

The pictures on this sales site show the install on a 2014 Overland...$329 w/free shipping "Father's Day" sale going on right now. These are the best looking running boards for the 2014 GC IMO...less expensive than the Mopar tubular step bars, and looks like an easier install as well. They also look like they will fit with the stock Jeep mud flaps.

...and here is the install video...

Can you tell us a bit more about these Ionic running boards for the 2014 GC?

Are you 100% happy with them? Any "Cons" to these? How secure are they? Are they flimsy when you put your weight on them? That strip in back that contacts the trim...does it look like it could trap dirt/sand and rub scratches into the trim? In my case, my Overland's trim is painted.

Re: Running boards

I am 100% happy with mine and they are very sturdy, step on them (bout 200lbs) all the time with no problem or give in the boards. My only trouble with installing them was I could not get my fingers in there to thread the screw on the bolt after I put it through the hole, I ended up just barely threading it on then putting the piece in the hole, took a little work but once you do the first one the rest are easy.....also need a deep socket to tighten it up. I had to go buy one.

Re: Running boards

Yes 100% HAppy with mine as well 200+ lbs weight on it several times. The tiny screws are a pain. If you have a jack that helps and gives you more room to get underneath there.

Yes heelz is right you do need a 18mm deep socket to finish the job to get the bolt tight holding up the brackets. Does not come in normal socket sets but bought one at Home Depot for $2.49.

Re: Running boards

**WARNING**

I just ordered these Ionic running boards from this merchant online...and I made payment through PayPal...

http://www.runningboardwarehouse.com...-or-orvis.aspx

...but instead of allowing me to make the payment on my credit card once I logged into PayPal, the money came straight from my bank account...never even giving me the choice to pay by credit card like I've been able to do on all my other purchases through PayPal.

This might not be an issue for some, but I like the cash back points I get when I use my credit card, and this sounds like a way for the merchant to bypass the 2 to 3% credit card fee. I also find it easier to return items from unscrupulous merchants when purchasing with a credit card.

I already called PayPal to report this, and they didn't seem to care. Why even bother with PayPal if I can't make payments through my credit card? Maybe I should call Visa because I'm sure THEY would care!
