Re: Running boards

I have the black Mopar steps. Even though they look much better than running boards, and are solid like a rock, I would never buy them again. The step is way too narrow for even small-footed adults. Our driver's side bolster is also starting to wear -- due to "sliding" out of the seat. It's nearly impossible to step on the bar on your way out. If we keep the Jeep, I'm thinking of replacing them with running boards. Seat covers are an eyesore -- unless you buy the real expensive ones.

Re: Running boards

I use the tubular running boards because my wife is quite short (4ft. 11ins) and she needs them as an aid to step into the GC. I'm tall and don't have that problem but they are handy when I wash or polish the roof of the vehicle. Other than that, they just look cool.

Romik Running Boards

These are my new running boards by Romik. I have young kids so these were kind of a must. I'm happy with them overall but wish were a little more tucked. Also, my '14 Limited need the 2" extenders.

Re: Running boards

I have the MOPAR ones also and turn my left size 11 sideways to get in. Do find it is easier on the seat. Occasionally use getting out as well. Understand they did not want anything projecting past the tires.

Starting an old magneto Harley is good practise, have to use the ball of your foot or will break your instep when it backfires.

Re: Running boards

I've got the chrome mopars. Originally bought them for my wife since she's short but she never actually uses them anyway. They help while loading stuff in the rooftop cargo carrier too. I'd consider selling mine if anyone's interested.

Here's a pic of them on my 2012

Re: Running boards

Order black mopar side steps today. Need to be able to access my roof (bikes, skis, boards, etc).
