Sarona Hood Worth it?

I recently saw someone with the Sarona hood for their Grand Cherokee and was wondering if anyone thinks they are worth the money. I like the look way better then the original, but if I was to get one where could I sell the original?

no man, there a better ways to individualize your ride. Attempting to alter factory styling is a bad idea because it usually looks worse (more cluttered) and it usually lowers resale value. Get some wheels.

I think it's all personal preference..I have a Sarona Hood and I like the look...but it's definitely not for everyone...and if you're really worried about resale value i'd save the factory hood...you can change it back very quickly.

I actually saved my factory hood and I also have an SRT hood...just in case I feel like swapping it out for the Sarona..

this is what mine looks like ..if interested...there are a few different styles though...overall the quality is pretty good

thanks....I actually had it painted and installed for me ..only cost like $350 to have it done. But installing it is actually pretty simple...I pulled it ff once to test fit the srt hood I have and it only takes 10-15 minutes

the hood itself will cost you about $1200 shipped I think though ..

Re: Sarona Hood Worth it?

Gotta say ajag that hood looks super cool,I like the lines on it,and looks very unique, shows my Jeep die hard ways, never considered a hood swap(well an SRT because I liked the lines) but that hood with the way you have the rest of your truck set up,looks great. Were I to swap out,I would keep the original hood too.I am sure there are many people for and against this mod,I am definitely a for it, those lines are great. Are the vents functioning?ie,do they cool better or are the cosmetic?Either way, good job man, definitely a more aggressive set up.

Thanks man...most people that see it in person seem to like it ...definitely makes it look different than stock...but there are plenty of people who don't like it either..it doesn't have that stock "clean line" look but its grown on me so I am keeping it on for now ...I was really thinking of ripping it off and putting an SRT hood on so I bought one...but haven't swapped it out yet ...'m sticking with this one for a little longer

The front vent is functional and seems to help with cooling down my supercharged setup ..the "gills" are just cosmetic but could be cut to be made functional if wanted

I really chose this hood originally because of the functional intake ...I'm not sure the air flow actually makes a difference in cooling but whatever

I'm sure it can't hurt to have some fresh air coming in to feed the K&N/supercharger

Re: Sarona Hood Worth it?

DAMN!!!! Just saw that blower under the hood.NOW I get why that hood is functioning!!That must be what,7k?,give or take.VERY cool.Should imagine that makes people's a$$holes pucker up when you accelerate!Anyhoo,I STILL think that is a cool hood,Moreso that it keeps your investment with plenty of air circulation.Am suitably impressed with your investment.

Thanks man...it's a pretty cool setup ...but I got a little crazy with it and pushed it a little too far ...and quickly found the limits of the Stock V6 engine...I ended up blowing the engine last week after about 9 months on the supercharger setup..totally my fault though as I was trying to push 14LBS of boost and the stock pistons and rods just didn't like that

safely these v6's seem to be able to handle 7-8lbs of boost if tuned properly...on 7lbs I was able to put down 330Hp to the wheels and on 10lbs was putting down 403HP to the wheels...never got a solid tune or dyno run on 14lbs before blowing it up

my new custom engine setup will be able to safely handle 14lbs so it should be in the 450-500HP to the wheel range hopefully..we'll see though
