Scuff plate upgrade options for Grey stone interiors

For us owners of Grand Cherokee with Dark/Mid Grey stone colored interior there are not much options for interior upgrades because this interior color is exclusive to laredos so any mod require some elbow grease and imagination. But the results do offer you something that surely will be rare at the very least even if noone recognizes your hard work

Here is used some Dupli-color Aluminum engine paint and painted the recess

With the use of a dremel some drill bits and a grinding bit I modifed my original scuff plate to accept the center trim piece from a set I of light beige ones I bought. (This was taken at the first fitting I will have to go back and do some clean up work)

Has anyone else modified there scuff plates?

Where did you get the jeep scuff plate? I got the bottom and cannot find the top ! And yes your right about the color, i bought tan husky liners and had to send back, looks like the grey would match better..

Re: Scuff plate upgrade options for Grey stone interiors

What I did was bought a pair of limited scuff plates from just for jeeps and took them apart to get the metal trim

Another way to spiff up the door sill guards it to go to the illuminated 'Jeep' setup. Not difficult to do if you are comfortable doing some basic electrical work.

Here's the part:
Illuminated Door Sill Guards - Jeep Grand Cherokee - Item # 82212120

Re: Scuff plate upgrade options for Grey stone interiors

The illuminated scuff plates are not a direct fit for laredos.

You would have to modify the scuff plate the same way I did for this mod.

If you don't have a dremel or some other drilling tool to make holes for placement of the tabs you are gonna have to find someone to do it for you.

I have been thinking about upgrading to the illuminated door sills but since I am modding two jeeps at the same time on spare cash I have been picking mods with the most bang for the buck.
