Good morning, everybody.
I'll try to keep this one comparatively brief.
The leather on the Upper contact face of the drivers seat in my JKU cracked (badly) about two years into ownership. Dealership says thats not covered by my factory or extended warranties. I understand that I have the option to use covers or re-upholster the seat.
However, when I was kicking tires at the dealership I sat in a GC Summit and discovered how comfortable seats are supposed to be.....oh my....that was niiiiiiiice. My butt fell in love...my back was delighted at true lumbar support....my ribs enjoyed almost real side-bolsters....even the head-rest was...restful. It was soooooo nice.
Then I started to wunder....what if....
So, I've read that there are a few of yall who have BOTH JKU and WK2 Jeeps. Could I possibly impose upon you to go take a gander at the bottoms of your seats for me? I know that the mounting brackets, themselves wont be a direct fit.....the JGC seats wont simply unbolt from the JGC and bolt right into (and plug into) the JKU; that would be wayyyy too easy. But I have a glimmer of hope that just maybe... the mounting face between the mounting bracket and the bottom of the seat itself MIGHT be cross-compatible.
In other words....can I remove the seats from the bracket of a JGC and mount them to the bracket of a JKU?
See...I kept it brief-ish.
