Shifter cover for the 8-speed "T" shifter

OK... In general I'm very pleased with the aesthetics of the interior of my Cherry Red '14 Summit. But the one thing that really bothers me most is the shifter. It's not the action of the shifter that I find troublesome. So many reviewers panned it, but all it really takes is some getting used to and it's just fine.

My problem is that I tend to rest my right hand on it when it's not doing anything else and it just feels really cheap and plastickey to me.

It occurred to me that it would be nice to find a cover for it, maybe out of some nice soft leather to match the Grand Canyon Brown interior.

I've scoured the internet looking for some kind of solution and haven't hand any luck thus far.

Anyone ever seen anything like this?? Ideas??

Yeah, I saw that, but the shaft is the part that bugs me.

I've got a local leather shop here that does just this kind of custom work. I'm going to pay them a visit and get an idea of what it would take to make a full leather cover to match my upholstery.

If we come up with something attractive and affordable I'll make it available here for a possible group buy. I can't be the only person who wants an upgraded feel to their shifter.
