Yet another picture thread of my latest mod. I was on the fence about this mod for a long time, but I finally decided to just go for it. I peeled off the chrome body side moulding and added the Grand Cherokee letters from the SRT. I am VERY happy with the results and I got the exact look I was looking for. Im not a huge fan of nothing down there as it just looked as if something was missing, but once I put the letters back in place it was perfect. Much cleaner look, but still has an OEM look.
I have yet to see pictures of this done on a Mineral Grey so hopefully you guys enjoy them and it possibly helps someone decide if they want to do it or not. Just to give you an idea, im a very picky person about what I do to my vehicles, and if you were on the fence like I was, I can assure you that you will love the look if you were to do it!! The new badges cost me $22.50 each side plus shipping. The old chrome side mouldings just peel off relatively easily. I took my time and ensured the new letters went on perfectly and were exactly where they are located on the SRT.

The only current mods on my Jeep are 20% matched tint on front windows, visual garage sharkfin antenna, chrome fog bezels, and now the side moulding removal and letters added.

Enjoy the pics!

James

I ordered a 2014 grand cherokee limited and still waiting for D1 status - in a pre-release state.

I like the full chrome side moulding and wonder can I get them added before or after ? Also I like door edge guards - both of which helps protect dings etc

Any others and any suffers tigons ?? Thanks

I removed the side chrome molding from my MY 13 @ 187 miles and would like to part ways with it for a nominal fee. Check the prices with your dealer and PM me an offer! fyi I'd save you 50%!

Awaiting the arrival of my letters tomorrow. Got the grunt work out the way this evening. Even though it looks good with nothing on, look forward to putting the letters on.

Ok here is how I measured the factory installed letters on my '14 Summit. I included pictures to better show where I measured from.
So the Grand Cherokee letters are 1-3/4" below the horizontal body panel line and 4" aft of the front edge of the door.

So happy I found this thread! I have a 2012 Laredo and I started to do the Plasti dip on the Chrome and it looks good, but I'm not happy with the door trim, makes the Jeep look a little cheap. Hoping to pickup the door trim in gloss black (don't want to have to dip it and get all the spaces around the letters!) and put them on the front doors.

But good god... $45 a door. Geez
