Re: Side view mirrors auto tilt when in reverse

You would think that by simply reprogramming the software it could be done. I will try to email contact Chrysler and see what kind of response I get. If any!

Re: Side view mirrors auto tilt when in reverse

My response from jeep goes something like this...you can turn off this feature in settings. Wtf? These numb nuts haven't seen the football since kickoff! I don't have the energy to let these donkeys have it. So for $41-50k this is what we get. Lol.

Re: Side view mirrors auto tilt when in reverse

I thought it was a neat idea until I tried it a couple of times. Turned it off yesterday.

Re: Side view mirrors auto tilt when in reverse

Would be nice to have a voice command to lower/raise them.

Re: Side view mirrors auto tilt when in reverse

Now that I have a Jeep, I understand your pain. I initially turned the feature on, but after backing up the first time, the mirrors were both way too low. So now it's off, because it's useless. So strange.

Re: Side view mirrors auto tilt when in reverse

An old thread but still a current PITA. I could swear the mirror positions were programmable, but apparently not.

Works the same way in my wife's 2001 VW Jetta, and is great. She likes the mirror to move way low when reversing, whereas I don't like it that low. Both settings are tied to our key fobs.

Let me say that again: that's a 2001 VW Jetta.

Hello, 2014 Jeep? Helloooooooooooooooo??? Anybody listening???

Re: Side view mirrors auto tilt when in reverse

Our Hondas and Acuras do it where which side the mirro control switch is selected to will told. Then if you leave it c netted neither will tilt. Unfortunately The Jeeps mirror tilt is basically useless as I'm not gonna sit there and go through settings to turn it on and off when needed. The switch method is PERFECT IMO. Besides, who would want them both to tilt anyway? I don't get it. So the feature is off all the time in my Jeep.

I added blind-spot mirrors. Problem solved...for me at least.

Re: Side view mirrors auto tilt when in reverse

I think older WKs had the ability to program this feature using chrysler scan tool. I wonder if the latest WK2s have the ability to change anything such as only one mirror tilting instead of both. Anyone know if mirror tilt has any options in the chrysler scan tools?

I use those also, rectangular, approx 3" x 2". They're great. But when reversing, I sometimes want a clearer view, especially when parking very close to a curb or obstacle.

My Honda Odyssey works the same way. It's very convenient.
