Tinkan, these look great. Would it be possible to see a picture of the front edge of the window (i.e. taken from the rear)? Just want to see how obtrusive the deflectors are toward the one part you can't see from your photos above. Thanks!
So is what you are saying is that despite the fact that the Weathertech ones fit into the top of the window channel, the windows still close completely and open without strain on the motor?
Yes, my windows open and close completely with no problems at all.
I actually had the weathertech ones on my volkswagen also that i had before the Ford i have now. The windows closed perfectly on that car with no problems also. They stay on the car as long as you want them. My husband has the ventshade ones that stick on the outside on his hyundai and after a while they started to come off and flap in the wind! One finally fell off, now he has three....LOL
Well, that is actually the reason I was considering ordering them. To be able to leave the windows open a little for cross ventilation when I am parked outdoors on hot days and not worry about rain. I prefer to tilt the roof, but if there is a chance of rain I won't risk it.
Just a heads up for anyone planning to place an order in the near future. I spoke with Weathertech/McNeil directly and the rep informed me that there is currently a 2 week backorder on the front/rear side window deflectors as of 3/6/12.
Question about these. Are they snapped into the window channel? I started another thread on window deflectors since I have factory jeep ones that are stick on plus have metal brackets that need to be fastened over the top edge of the door. I don't mind the double faced tape so much, but since the deflectors already have holes punched in the side, you need to use the brackets too. What a goofy setup. Think I'm going to return them.
Yes, the Weathertechs are in-channel. No hardware for the fronts, in the rear there are two metal clips per side that go in the channel (not visible from the outside) and adhesive on the portion that goes into the channel. They look great installed.
I ordered a set last month. Was told they would ship on the 12th. Called them yesterday and was told the rears aren't in yet and should be in stock next Monday. These were for the darker set. Apparently the lighter set is on an even longer back order.
Another backorder update. Spoke with WeatherTech today. Rears are now on backorder untill the 2nd week of April. Quite aggrivating being that I've called several times before today to get an update and kept getting the same answer. "Oh, no worries. They will ship by 3-19" Call today and the nice lady informed me of the updated backorder info. Effing yippie.
She asked if she could go ahead and send me the fronts since they were in stock and waive the shipping on my order. Said that was fine and thanks as long as I would receive the rear deflectors sometime before 2013. She laughed. I didn't.
I hope you all love your weathertech because I just bought a set of AVS in channel and they are not sticking well and are also not formed right. I already cracked one of the front ones after 2 days because it was slipping out. I sure hope you are all right about these weathertech ones being the best!
My Weathertech deflectors have been installed for 2.5 years. No issues with fit, and no tint fading, cracking or anything else. They're in like-new condition. And their customer service is spectacular if you ever have occasion to call them.
