I went and got some samples of the 3m dinoc and the 1080. Actually the advantage of plastidip is that the finish is rubbery, looks and feels much better, just like the stuff in $70K + BMWs. Also if you have the non overland dash, it will match that rubber nicer than the 3m vinyl wrap. So IMHO it will look more OEM than any other solution.

Re: Silver Trim Pieces

The new Chrysler 300 has wood around the shifter:

I don't have a problem with the silver, I just wish it was more solid. It bends if you push down on it, kinda flimsy.

Re: Silver Trim Pieces

i haven't studied the WK2 SRT8 interior pics yet, but its quite possible they are carbon fiber. You may have to wait for the SRT parts to hit dealers, but that could be a good option.

Re: Silver Trim Pieces

I just noticed that my silver trim around the main head unit is not perfect... Seems like its coming off a little on the passenger side... Anyone else have that problem?

Re: Silver Trim Pieces

I'd love to do that to mine but with the olive wood in the summit its hard to find that.

Re: Silver Trim Pieces

There's bound to be someone producing a carbon fiber and/or wood trim kit in the near future for all these pieces. I used a carbon fiber kit in my Yukon some years ago (can't remember who produced it) that looked really good, was easy to apply and durable long -term. Keep your eyes open and let the rest of us know when you find something!

Re: Silver Trim Pieces

The silver painted plastic dash and console trim may not be to everyones taste but there are a few options to address all our preferences.

We have a few Options listed below but not limited to:
  • Painting
  • Vinyl wrapping
  • dash Kits (that stick on and cover the existing panel)
  • Hydro graphics
  • fabric wrapping
For those of you that have a Limited or Overland with the brown wood, hydro graphics would be perfect for the shift surround since the process would generate a part the appears to have been factory.

I am personally considering the Hydro graphic option. I have going to different sites looking for a pattern that would match Laredo (fake black wood) interior the most. They are some sites that offer black burlwood patterns or maybe a black stone finish would mimic the laredo trim better.

I have also considered doing the vinyl wrap, possibly in a brushed aluminum or titanium I think the brushed texture would contribute to the higher quality look to the interior.

Nope haven't done anything yet

Doesn't bother me that much.... I just keep a coat of spray wax on them and it helps the appearance

Re: Silver Trim Pieces

hmmm, i'm kind of nervous about doing it< i like the laredo trim but I think those door trim pieces would look sharp in a silver carbon fiber, or brushed aluminum
