Skid Plates..I'm confused.

Through searching this site and some online vendors, I have determined that there are three areas where skid plates can protect the bottom of my 2011 Overland.

1) Front Axle

2) Transfer Case

3) Fuel Tanks

Here's my question. Based on the installation instructions, it appears that none of these skid plates cover the area forward of the front axle where the plastic cover is. Underneath that plastic cover are some very important things (oil pan, oil filter, etc).

Why would this area not be protected?

Can't answer that, other than to say Rocky Road Outfitters makes one. *credit - jcarone*

Don't forget there's a Fuel Line Skid Plate as well

Just to expand on that, it is not available as an aftermarket part from outside sites. You will need to go to the parts counter at a dealership and purchase it that way. I forget what the exact part # is but if you search through the threads on skid plates it should be in there somewhere.

ASFIR4x4 make something but i think it's a bit pricy. Here's their link and the link to another thread.
