I am interested in getting some splash guards for my 2015 High Altitude. Main reason is because I have been getting annoyed with all the junk that gets picked up and stick on the side of my car. Being a white vehicle makes it more obvious as well. Stuff like road grime, maybe even road kill, just chunks of whatever is annoying and becomes hard to remove. I see there are Mopar ones and Husky, but the Mopar ones don't look that great IMO. They stick down too far. They may be a little more functional because of this, but they aren't pretty to look at. The Husky ones seem to be a little easier on the eyes.
Now my question is, I know the High Altitude more or less has a Summit body, but the lower side skirts are from the SRT. So I was wondering if fitment would be an issue for the front flaps, or is the area around the lower side skirts the same between the two.
Can anyone with a High Altitude chime in? Would love to see pictures of your HA with the Husky splash guards installed...preferably white. I know there is a Summit splash guard thread going, but not really any HA specific info in that thread.
Also interested, I really need some mud flaps on my summit because ive been dealing with the same problem as you, and the 22x10s definitely don't help with all the sh*t kicked up on our doors. I just need to see some pictures as I haven't been able to find any and don't want to ruin the look of my jeep.
Well your good to go with a Summit. They have Mopar or Husky splash guards available for your Summit. For more info and pics see the Summit splash guard thread that's been going for a couple years strong now. I bumped that post so it should be just a few down.
The main reason for my new thread was to see if Summit splash guards fit the High Altitude. I know the rears would be the same, but just curious if the SRT side skirts cause any fitment issues.
I would caution that the front of the HA/Summit lower skirt is exposed in the wheel well. The Mopar guards go around the front edge of the skirts but they do not fully cover that exposed face of the skirt. So this will stick out on a light colored vehicle. Someone on here posted pics of what that looked like on a white Summit. His solution was to paint that exposed area black.
I can't speak for how the Husky guards cover that.
Great info thanks very much. And yes the fitment of those looks great! They aren't bad looking and yes you are right the more they stick down the more functional they would be. It's just that I feel on a white High Altitude they are gonna stand out quite a bit and based on pictures it seemed like the Husky ones were a little less obvious for whatever reason.
Sounds like you answered my question though. If those Mopar guards are for the Summit and work on your HA perfectly then obviously the Husky Summit guards will work as well on the HA.
You're welcome, JTS. The typical black splash guards are going to stick out on a white vehicle regardless of who makes them. What you do have going for you are the black wheels, which will make the guards blend in and be a little less obvious.
From what you can tell do these things really help with keeping crud off the side of your car? That would be the main reason for adding splash guards, not necessarily to stop rock chips as that does t seem to be an issue.
