SRT Lower Bumper License Plate Holder/Overland

Morning guys,

I just got my plates finally, and am dreading drilling holes into the bumper for the OEM license plate holder.

Does anybody know if the below will work with the Overland, or any other non-SRT model?

2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT Removable Front License Plate Bracket - License Plates - Exterior

Thanks!
-Trent

Yeah if you don't already have the bracket installed don't put holes in your bumper!! Does your state enforce front plates that much to where you couldn't get away without having a front plate? My state requires front plates (as far as I know), never have had one installed in 19 years of driving and never once hassled lol. If you absolutely must have one then sounds like you have the right idea to do your best at avoiding putting holes in your bumper.

This is cheaper, looks less complicated, and seems like it's way lighter also

I would also be interested in what people have done. Putting new bumpers on and would prefer to not drill into them

To be honest, I've spoken to law enforcement in Iowa that state it's required to attach to front. It's been 2 years and I haven't attached. I've parked driven or even asked officers about the issue and have been told to keep inside the vehicle just incase you are pulled over. Straight from officer's mouth "what's to say you have an appointment to get attached, or just got the car, just maintain possession inside the vehicle." You are welcome. If you please, ask your state officers.

But don't be shocked when you're written the ticket for...failure to display. Which means on the bumper and not in the window or loose inside the car. Unless you know someone at a shop that will write you a bogus receipt then you'll have to pay the fine regardless. Just depends on who pulls you over always.

Note as I mentioned consult local law enforcement, some will be honest and some will BS... I have yet to get a ticket for it in Iowa and I have had this vehicle as I said around police... For 2 years lol also been pulled over doing 105 in a 70mph, he said over police recording and my phone recording I aimed the lidar at your license plate, I said "funny... I don't have one..." He had no response. Again in court challenging the ticket, I brought to judge's attention, NO PLATE and again didn't get fined. It's a very very minor offense and police won't waste their time.
