Srt8 front end conversion

Hi, All

Looking to move over to the WK2 Jeep Cherokee after 8 long years with a Cadillac CTS. When i initially got my CTS, i did the entire CTS-V conversion and swapped out the front and rear bumpers, grill, fog lights and rocker moldings. The entire process was relatively simple and not all that expensive. Now i'm wondering, can the same thing be done for the Cherokee and the SRT8? What parts would i need, where can i get them and approximatley how much would it cost? The old cadillac forums i'm a member of had tons of write ups on how to do this kind of stuff- is there anything like that here?

I love the aggressive look of the SRT8 but don't have the coin for it. I also would rather not drive around in a vehicle that only gets 12mpg in the city.

Any help on this topic would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Srt8 front end conversion

Hi it will be a pricy swap...

Check out Mopar Jeep Accessories & Parts Store at JustForJeeps.com

You will need following

New Bumpers (Front & Rear)
New wheel well surrounds (Front & Rear)
New Rocker (Left and Right)
New Hood

And I think you will need to reroute your exhaust...

When I bought my limited, I hated the black plastic trim on the car. I was told by several body shops to buy the new trim for an overland and then they will paint them. The body trim for the overland was $1000...

I found a body shop that would sand and paint the trim on my jeep for less then the new parts!

Re: Srt8 front end conversion

OK, so i've done a little research and for what i'm trying to do, looks like i'll need the following:

Front Bumper
Upper and Lower Grilles
Fog lights
Inner Fender Welds (Front)
Rocker Panels

I don't plan on getting the rear bumper right away so that and the rear fender welds will have to hold. Also, im not sure about the rear bumper if you have the laredo with a single exhaust.

Quick question on the SRT8 fog lights: Does anyone know if they will actually work in the WK2? It doesn't look like it's plug and play but has anyone done it. I would think it's possible.

Thnx.

Re: Srt8 front end conversion

The rocker on SRT is different , so you will need to replace the rear wheel well trim and rear bumper.

It is an all or nothing.

Re: Srt8 front end conversion

In the end, it may not be much cheaper to have the "poser" vs. the real thing.

Too bad you can't get an SRT appearance package. I like the look of the SRT, but not the 12 MPG that comes with it.
