Re: SRT8 Steering Wheel Installed

Youch - that's even worse than I feared. I'll keep an eye on eBay. I was thinking that it might look good to have a trim shop find black perforated leather that matches the center sections of the seat and then wrap the beltline trim pieces and the top section of the wheel in it. Not sure what approach we'll take.

Thanks for the info.

Re: SRT8 Steering Wheel Installed

I apologize for hijacking this thread, but after reading through it I saw someone ask if they would be installing the srt bumps. My question is, would the srt bumpers actually secure properly to a non srt wk2 or if there would need to be a lot of other modifications to fit them?

Some may think this is dumb, could it be recovered in leather like our wheels. It looks like it would cover up the logo since the leather covers this section on our wheels.
For those of you that want the SRT style wheel rim, without the SRT logo, I may have a solution for you. This is an SRT styled rim that is designed as an upgrade for an '11-up Challenger. I've been doing some research as I want to replace the wheel in my Challenger with a Jeep wheel using the '12 SRT8 Challenger airbag (should fit the jeep wheel but has the Dodge logo) because I don't like the odd shaped center on my wheel, but I don't like the shape of the SRT8 rim either. What I've found is that it looks like not only should the wheels interchange, but the bezels should interchange between wheels too. This means you *should* be able to buy one of the wheels listed above, put your current front and rear steering wheel bezel on it, and install it on your Jeep. I will confirm this and post the results as soon as I get a Jeep wheel to replace mine with. Speaking of which, anyone who did this swap want to sell me their old wheel?

Re: SRT8 Steering Wheel Installed

FYI-
For those forum members that bought the SRT Steering Wheels from that ebay seller this past Jan., 2012.

After a hard-to-find search of these omitted parts...
Here are the correct part numbers for those 2 missing paddle & switch covers on the rear-side of the steering wheel.

Right Cover- Part #1YT66DX9AA

Left Cover- Part #1YT67DX9AA

They both are surprisingly less than $2. each and "Made in USA".

Re: SRT8 Steering Wheel Installed

Thank you bigjgcfan! Both part numbers are correct and they installed in no time at all - just clip them in place.
