Thanks. I saw that, but I'm wondering what it looks like from behind or if there are holes, are the visible from either the passenger side or when getting into the jeep?

The rear of the wheel where the paddles are is not visable to either the driver or passanger, you would notice by feel only if you left it empty.

Won't the covers from the old wheel fit onto the srt wheel? I'm wondering about this. Should fit if you remove the paddle shifters no?

Re: SRT8 Steering Wheel Installed

No, there must be a srt wheel specific cover as you cannot swap over from the stock wheel. Should have more info later today (part # and price)

Re: SRT8 Steering Wheel Installed

The correct part # for the covers appears to be: 1XT781X9AA (EDIT: This may be the incorrect part #, need to verify) but currently they are not available to be ordered in the parts system by the dealer.

Not a big deal as you really cant see back there once its installed anyways. I would just like to clean it up so all your fingers feel are the buttons.

I also ordered the 2012 SRT8 shift knob (Part# 1QH48DX9AA) and it should be here tomorrow morning. We had to do some digging for the part number so I will verify tomorrow that it is indeed correct.

Re: SRT8 Steering Wheel Installed

While at the dealer they also confirmed that the SRT8 wheel does not have the damper that the overland wheel does so reinstalling without it is correct.

Yep. I love the wheel but don't really like the idea of sporting SRT in my overland. I may decide to but would rather not. I wish I could swap out the entire center switch board but I can see they are entirely different.

The Overland backside cover looks to be a single plastic piece with three "legs"' almost like an oversized benz logo. The SRT8 wheel backside looks to be two separate rectangular pieces per below shot.

Thanks 604 for the parts link posted later in this thread.

Re: SRT8 Steering Wheel Installed

Looking more closely at the diagram on the printout I think the part # for the covers I listed is actually the full cover style and not the two individual pieces needed for the SRT wheel.

Re: SRT8 Steering Wheel Installed

so with the paddles removed and the covers installed, it shouldn't really be noticeable that the paddles are missing based on the pic above.
