Re: SRT8 Steering Wheel into 2011s?

I see the evil robotic rabbit now. LOL Reminds me, I just got rid of 5 baby bunnies at my house that would have eaten everything. Just drove them up the road a ways and let them go on the side of the road by a farm.

Hope you don't see that evil rabbit whenever you drive. That could cause an accident... or nightmares. LOL

Re: SRT8 Steering Wheel into 2011s?

Hello guys, I'm new around here and as a jeep owner too. I brought the srt8 steering wheel for my 2012 Laredo and install it. It took me like 15 minutes to install it. Once I finished I start my engine to test the paddle shifter and.... No good!!! I was disappointment but what the hell It looks great. After that I start searching on the internet and didn't find anything. I unmounted again and compare the original steering wheel cables vs. the srt8 and found two additional cables, orange and blue/black. Then I unmounted the shifter console to see if there was any activator or cables for the shifting and I found it. It is a little box with a yellow and black cable. After that I started testing some combinations between the paddle shifter cables and the shifter box (I don't know how to name it) and found something. If I take out the orange cable and insert a new cable to connect it to the yellow one I can shift up with the paddle shifter. Here is the thing, I never found the combination to down shift. Both sides, up and down have the same colors (orange + blue/black). It will be great to have the wiring diagram or some electric meter to test it but i don't.
Does someone around here have any idea? The yellow and black cables plug have two unused slots maybe it have something to do with this. Any help will be appreciated.

Re: SRT8 Steering Wheel into 2011s?

I am doing this swap on my 2011 6 speed Challenger SRT. I am guessing that you could buy the 6 speed wheel that does not have the paddle shifters and put in on your Jeep. Very cool mod whichever wheel you use.

If someone can find how to enable full use of the paddleshifters then I think this mod will be next on my list!!!
