Stainless Pedal for Emergency Brake

Many of you have been PMing me about an emergency brake pedal I purchased for a Charger. This was an idea from a fellow member in this thread. The pedal arrived today from Steve White Motors.

Link to pedal

I am afraid to say it is going to require a bit of modification in order to fit our WK2 pedals. Take a look at the pictures below and you will see what I am talking about. The main difference is the 90* orientation of the pedals and the fact that we have a roll assembly attached to the pedal. This will require clearance on the pedal cover. One other thing to note is that this pedal is actually a Mercedes number for the AMG line. Just so everyone knows, these were never advertised as direct fits for the WK2, but I figured it would be worth $20 to see if I cold make it work. Time to hit the garage and see if I can get this thing to fit and still look decent. My only reservations about turning it 90* is that the curvature of the pedal won't match the other 2 Mopar stainless pedals.

Re: Aluminum Pedal for Emergency Brake

I just got an email from Steve (guy from the Hickory dealership listing them on Ebay) today confirming that it will not fit. He was unsure if it could be modifiied. Here's hoping.

Re: Aluminum Pedal for Emergency Brake

Well, I got it on and I have to admit, it looks pretty good for being somewhat rigged and matches the other pedals great when viewing from the driver seat. I only wish the slight curvature of the pedal went the other way to match the Mopar pedals, but since the emergency brake pedal is so short, it is not too noticeable. You can see in the picture what parts of the surround I had to cut out. I have since smoothed out these cuts w/ a Dremel. Right now the pedal is actually pretty secure on the mount, but I will probably add some sort of epoxy to secure it further.

Nice work!! How did you go about knowing what to cut out? I think this is out of my expertise.

I just compared it to the cover I took off and kept cutting off a bit, test fitting it and cutting off a bit more until it fit the pedal assembly securely. If you can operate a pair of scissors or diagonal pliers you should be able to accomplish this. Just go slow and cut off a bit at a time...you can always cut off more, but it is hard to put the rubber surround back on!

Re: Aluminum Pedal for Emergency Brake

Looks good, nice, relatively inexpensive MOD to match the other bright metal pedals. Thanks for sharing. +rep

Re: Aluminum Pedal for Emergency Brake

looks awesome. i think it only looks like it doesn't match because you know it doesn't match. if you were a random person looking at it you would just think it looks awesome.

wonder if mopar will ever add the emergency brake to the set?
