Re: Stir (stuff) up...

ww.detailedimage.com has tons of how to write ups and videos. There is a detailing forum here and most of this has been hashed over many many times. Im getting ready to give my srt some zpa treatment if you wanna come to Ky to see it done right. I grew up in my dads detail shop...so Ive been doing it for 20 odd years.
For wash i use mothers california gold wash in my foam gun and.then wash from top down with a lambs wool mit. Rinsing in a clean water bucket ever so often. I wash my wheels, engine bay etc. the same way. I then rinse with no sprayer to get a sheeting action. Then pull into garage to dry with my detailed image waffle weave towels. If just washing i use adams detail.spray while it wet. Spray on each panel and then wipe down
Leaves aweome shine and leaves it slick. Top to bottom. Then inside door jams and interior. Then wheels.
I use alot of adams products and products from detailedimage.com. my gomto sealant is blackfire wet diamond and jet seal 109. Im the spring and summer i will top that with adams americana carnuaba. No wax in cold weather. Its useless. I ise the same sealants and wax on my wheels.
For light imperfections i use meguiers 105 and m205 on my porter cable da buffer. I also have a collection of buffing pads.
Use only high quality microfiber towels. Detailed Image can recommend a towel for every situation. They are not expensive.
If you are lazy or not a detailer...i suggest one of the glass or ceramics coatings when new. I had this done on my 2014 and it has lasted over 2.5 years for me. Paint still looks new and has a very deep wet shine. I still seal it with blackfire or jet seal and top americana carnuaba.
For tire shine I only use the adams tire shine. For glass i iae stoners invisible glass. For engine bay dressing i use 303 protectant. For interior Inuse adams products about twice a year. I keep my interior spotless with frequent vacuuums and wipe down with just a damp microfiber or waffle weave.
Anymore questions just ask!

Well......have had the Jeep 18 months and have not had to wash it...it has been in the shop often enough that the complimentary wash has kept it adequately clean.
Gonna have to do something to the leather though.......starting to show some 'cracking' on the left side top edge of the drivers seat.

Re: Stir (stuff) up...

I've always used Wizard's car care products mainly because its what my local auto paint supplier has always recommended, they're inexpensive, and so far I've had no complaints. I have used the Mystic Cut, and Finish Cut for scratches and the Shine Master, Supreme Seal and Mystic Spray wax for sealant / polish / wax.

http://wizardsproducts.com/

Having black vehicles the last 12 years, and being anal about how my vehicles look, its a constant battle. I've seen the Blackfire products before, but never could justify the ridiculous prices!

Lately, my question is on the 'orange peel' remover pads.

CarPro Denim Orange Peel Removal Pad, orange peel removal paint

I like the concept, but am afraid that it will remove or damage the clear coat in the long run. Any experience with these types of products here?

After how my 2004 GC seats looked when I sold the car, I highly debated getting some form of seat covers for my new '15. I know the 2004 was 10 years old when I sold it, but those things were beat, cracked, and peeling. Worst part of the car by far at the end there and Im fairly anal as well about cleaning, care, maintenance. So far no issues in the new ride and I've not had to buy any covers. However, I keep the idea in the back of m mind.

Side note: really wish the altitude/srt suede seats were an option in all models. I actually like those 100x better than the all leather.

Yeah agree i dont think this leather is holding up well at all. My last vehicle the leather drivers seat looked nearly as good 10 years later when i sold it as when i bought it. These jeep ones have been used and taken care of the same way and almost 3 years old but showing wear signs and cracking. Not terrible yet but they are not going to take the test of time i can tell.
