Suntech vs Formula One window tint

Hello everyone,
New owner of '12 GC Overland, and the mods have begun! Already ordered the weather tech cargo liner and mopar pedal kit (looking forward to that install right of passage) and a platidip of the badges will be this weekend. I have been calling around to get prices on window tints. One place that i had my old Yukon done offers Suntech carbon tint but at a price of $280. Another offers Formula One tint at a price of $175. Anyone have any a dive on one vs the other other than price? How the quality on one vs the other and is it so small that its really not that big a difference?
Thanks to all in advance

I have not heard of either, but that does not mean they aren’t good. I would look to see if they have a Life Time Warranty for Bluing or defects. Also, some tints are Polarized where others are not. I would just look to see if those are in the types you mentioned. **HEADS UP** If getting Polarized Tint and you have Polarized glasses you will have rainbow colors when looking out the windows.

The Brand that I have on my Jeep is LLumar @ 20% - I have also heard of 3M

Re: Suntech vs Formula One window tint

I've had great luck w/ Suntek CXP. It is a step up from their Carbon line.

Re: Suntech vs Formula One window tint

I only have used the Llumar Formula One with good success, nice high quality film.

IIRC it's ceramic-based instead of metallic which can interfere with remotes.

Installer here wants $89 for the two front side windows.

I've used Formula 1 and liked it. Like Armored said, it ceramic. I personally feel that is a great thing. Both metallic and ceramic can somewhat decrease the sensitivity of your remote.

I have Huper Optik on my current cars (WK2 is ordered). If given the chance, I have searched out Huper Optik dealers after getting a car tinted with it from then on. It has crazy heat rejection that no one else can match at the moment. That said, from what installers have told me, it is difficult to install well because it is not quite as flexible as most tints. GC's shouldn't have an issue, but the rear window in my old 944 would have been a bitch.

Also in reading the forums and GC's manual (yes I'm chomping at the bit for mine to get here!), the windows that come tinted on the GC have little IR and almost no UV-B rejection. It could need further tinting/non-tinted film to reject it.
