Swapping Headlamps from GC Limited to Laredo?

So, I just took delivery of my 2014 GC Laredo E, which has the standard headlamps. I have access to a set of the premium headlamps, which are Bi-Xenon HID.

Does anyone know if swapping standard headlamp assemblies for the HID assemblies is plug-and-play? Will I need to reprogram an ECU?

Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated!!

You will need a harness as the connectors are way different.

Jeep addicted on here makes a conversion harness.

Re: Swapping Headlamps from GC Limited to Laredo?

After comparing the differences in the connectors on the mopar connector site.

Mopar Connection Repair Kit

There are too many different connectors to interface to make an adapter harness for the 2014 swap

I can get the 16 pin connectors needed for the 2014 Bixenons, if anyone wants to try. But if I were to attempt this swap I would cut all the plugs off and insert them directly into the new 16 pin plugs.

The wire position are below and the connector pictures are attached. So

Re: Swapping Headlamps from GC Limited to Laredo?

Lets put it this way it is not impossible but it would not be as clean as 2011-2013.

If I made pigtails with the 16 pin connectors and you feel comfortable with using "T-taps" to get power that is one way of doing it.

If you want HID lighting I would just recommend and kit in the halogen projectors,

If you were going after the cool LED DRLS is would say maybe a trade would be your best option right now.

It would be easier to put the new LED DRL headlamps in 2011-2013 then it would be from a 14 Lim to a 14 Lar? Splain Lucy! Splain!
