I was hoping to do a quick upgrade over stock bulbs for the headlights/fogs and after reading many different threads I decided to pull the trigger on some SYLVANIA H11 SilverStar zXe High Performance Halogen Headlight Bulb. I found them for $49.99 / 2-pack and had a coupon from Advanced Auto Parts to net each pack around $42.
First, the installation didn't take as long as I originally thought based on hearing some of the forum members experience. Unless I didn't know the trick, the driver side took longer because I had to remove the airbox. The airbox was the PITA over the actual bulb installation. Overall it took me about 40 minutes (1 hour with the airbox struggle I had). I took her out last night and did see a dramatic difference for road brightness and spread, at least in the low light area where I live.
Also, reading a handful of reviews online there was a concern that bulb life would be dramatically less due to the Jeep's DRL setting. At this time I have turned DRL off but I am going back/forth to truly understand how much life is taken from the bulbs and consider keeping DRL on.
