Let me clarify, only they they are blinding me. There are plenty of them on the road properly aligned.

Wasn't trying to be an as*hole bro lol. The worst hid I have ever seen was purple, pink or green not aimed properly. That should be straight ticket!

True that. I tried to tint my halogen ones myself with one coat if night shades and it came out so ugly. That's why I got my leds professionally tinted. Plus I saw yours and they looked bad ass!

Read through the thread next time. We just covered that.

And what experience did you have with that? Were they your lights that were tinted? What car and year, if you don't mind me asking?

It's fairly important to the conversation to know some specs, because like I said, older cars without brighter tail lights are definitely affected more than those with LED lights.

My cousins 11' escalade he was stopped at a red light an got rear ended by a tropicana orange juice truck..everything was all good thought he was getting a good settlement through the 1 1/2-2 yrs it was going on,throwing out numbers he didn't like the number so it went to court which it was then left to 6 jury members and he walked away with nothing,bc their verdict was if they weren't tinted it wouldn't have happened, tinted lights they look awesome but It's not worth it

Sounds like he should've gone for the earlier settlement instead of throwing away numbers he didn't like, but that's another story, I guess...

And I can't confirm what kind of lights he had on his Escalade either, but if they weren't LEDs, then I'd chalk that up to "lights that shouldn't be smoked/tinted". And if they were, then he went too dark.

Depending on the vehicle I can be stopped at a light and not need to apply my brake based on gearing and transmission. So tinted or not no brake lights are on or visible. If I'm rear ended its because the other driver just isn't paying attention and is at fault

Indeed, good point.

I noticed today that there are quite a few Lexus RX models that are using strictly red LED bulbs, instead of red light housings to emit the color. When they aren't on, the entire light is white/chrome. I don't see how this is any different than having tinted tail lights that still emit enough light.

Rearending someone does not make it your fault. I cannot go into my personal experience with something similar to this on a public forum. However, the point is that IF it is illegal, that is all it will take to not go in your favor. Also, remember you are dealing with a fickle and human jury that just "tinting" is enough to make them cringe. The reality is that your lights are probably bright enough and safe enough, but how do you convince the jury of that after the fact. All they know is that you "modified" the vehicle. His comment has a great load of merit.

I am not criticizing your choice to tint. If I start making your payments, then it will be my decision. But until then, carry on...

Most places if you get rear ended no matter what it's the person that hit yous fault. Look at manual cars you can just sit with your foot on the clutch and not move at all.

Generally yes you are correct, but it is not the case all the time. There are circumstances where it might not be. Not trying to argue but I know this from first hand experience.
