Re: Taillight solutions-just ordered mine.

Lol, just bring your Jeep to my house in VA and I'll install them for you for free!

I realize on the boards you have no idea of a persons age, physical ability, physical shape, health, mobility, arthritis, bad back or neck, mechanical ability, novice, whether they like to get their hands and clothes dirty, etc....unless disclosed. So I'm not going to keep saying it's easy, but it's not too hard to accomplish with only a small screwdriver to pry out the tabs on the taillights.
When you get them and have install q's, then PM me and I can walk you through it.

These lights look awesome.

Does anyone know if doing this violates state vehicle codes for inspections? I live in PA, and I had a buddy who tinted his tails with plastiDip on his Nissan Z and his garage wouldn't pass it because they told him you aren't allowed to alter your lighting in PA.

Also, does this affect warranty at all? Thanks!

Adding additional redundant light function to the rear of your car adds visibility to your car and does not constitute as an illegal modification.

Tinting the lenses altering the color or light output can be seen as an illegal modification.

Warranty sometime comes down to interpretation but that too shouldn't affect your warranty, They are so easy to install for most people that removing them is not a huge affair either if you have a dealership looking for a reason to not to honor a warranty claim because of the addition of redundant light function to your car with a harness that uses OEM styled connectors and does not alter the vehicle wiring.

Post #5 links to an install thread with pics. Plus the tail light solutions web page has pics and videos in action.

Re: Taillight solutions-just ordered mine.

people people,ya gotta pay to play, I spent over 800 with ken at taillight solutions when i got my wk1 for tinted led replacement housings for rear fog, taillights and, rear brake, as well as the fog harness, its been 3 years and no problems,
and challengerbiz, you are way overthinking it. it was way more complicated removing the rear fogs on wk1. it was either drilling some holes in the back of the bumper plastic to get access at some screws or removing the entire bumper. i went with the easy route drilling holes. buy the kit if you have questions call or email ken at taillight solutions he can help you as he also has a wk2 and did the mod the first week he had them
