Well I started out with a base Laredo.. Loved the altitude but did not wanna drop an extra 8 gs and diddnt want leather.. So I got the altitude grill and rear valance.. Added a Mopar CAI.. Just got a gibson axle back exhaust installed last week.. Found a mygig radio on eBay and swapped that out with the regular one, swapped out the standard air controls with the auto climate control just added LED DIY accent foot well lighting.. (There is a thread on it that's awesome costs 20 bucks and matches OEM) and I have a Billet Tech shift ball on the way to replace the standard shift knob.. That's it right now.. Also plan to get a billet technology Catch Can down the road.. And rims powder coated black. swear I'm not obsessed lol. And I am on the NW side of the city. Close to oak park area.

Jeep Cfarer:

There is only one down side to adding the rock rails.

That is not getting dirty when you try it enter or exit the vehicle after driving in the rain or in the mud/snow. (this even happens to some people that have the mopar side steps)

Other than that.

There are many upsides to the rock rails especially as an anti door ding device.

Re: Talk me out of this first mod.....

Thanks all for your comments.

However, are there any negatives to this install I am missing?

The PITA install I know, getting pants dirty when the rock rails are dirty I understand, but can deal with. My body shop owner friend indicates using the proper paint and procedure on the rock rails will not be an issue.

Thanks again.

Re: Talk me out of this first mod.....

Question for those who have Mopar original rails...

Can the rails be used as a step?- will my wife believe me when I tell her I finally added a step to help her get in?

Thanks

The first photo is not the 82212157. From what I can find the 82212157 & the "AB" version look exactly the same.
