Re: Thinking about plastidip

Exactly. I'm glad others agree. I used plastidip on my rear step pad hoping to freshen it up, but its sooo sticky. It's pretty annoying. Never again.

Re: Thinking about plastidip

The problem with putting 3m dinoc type of stuff on the outside is that it just wont go well with the wood interior. IMHO it will also take away from the rugged look of the jeep..

Im thinking flat black on the outside, anywhere there is chrome, including the front grille, with body colored mirror caps.

Anyway, im sittin here debating if i should try and plastidip the side chrome mouldings that i took off the car this weekend. If you look at x5's etc. they all have the flat black mouldings on the sides, and little to no chrome anywhere. The interior is brushed aluminum/and or fake wood with a flat black center console. modern and simple.

Go for the exterior parts... We warned you of the possible issues, and if you don't like it... It peels off!! No harm done! Go for it!

subscribed for updates and pics!

I am going to plastidip the grill of my G37... based on that, will also consider doing that chrome peice on the rear of the jeep, i have Dk charcoal like Dune Crawler. I think getting that a diff color while keeping the Jeep logo chrome would look great.

fingernails scratch that stuff off. I don't think it would ever look as good as stock.

Re: Thinking about plastidip

i tried it on the interior do not do it! like everyone said everything sticks to it and it feels grippy. besides those reasons though it is not durable at all in places inside the car that see a lot of action. i figured since it was on my wheels and held up extremely well it could handle the interior but it definitely cant. if you rub it or brush it with something it will begin to roll off.
