to debadge or not to debadge...that is the question

I know there are a million threads on this but....I need opinions. I'm debating taking off the side chrome moldings and the rear 4x4 and laredo emblems. I would replace the side moldings with the grand cherokee emblems from just for jeeps. I almost think the chrome makes the max steel really pop. Thoughts??????

I say go for it! I think the GC looks so much cleaner and more elegant after removing the side molding. I have a debadged mineral grey and haven't regretted doing so in the slightest.

I agree the chrome makes max steel pop more. I was never much into the chrome look until I got this color. I'm currently debating taking the JEEP letters off the hood though.

Hey man I think you've looked at my post on the maximum steel... i'd leave the chrome molding on the side, it definitely looks good against MS. I took the Laredo badge off of the back and the dealers badge, left the 4x4 on. Also i added the rear chrome step pad surround let me see if i can find a pic for you to look at. of the rear.. only way i would debadge is if i was going in an Altitude or SRT8 direction. I do want to have that massive chrome liftgate piece painted but have the Jeep emblem left chrome that does look a lot cleaner and there are some post on that in the mod section as well. I used an ice pack to take off the laredo badge, the letters popped right off and then used some of my car wash stuff to get off any residue the letters left.. looks much cleaner.

Debadged my Max Steel Altitude within the first few hours of owning it. I debadge all my cars. Companies go overboard on badges in my opinion. Plus it makes it way easier come detail time.

Re: to debadge or not to debadge...that is the question

While I do not own the MS color - I am a fan of debaging.

I took the "JEEP" off the hood, and scolded the dealer that if they would put a "dealer badge" on my truck I would be angry - so they left that crap off.

If you're going to completly debadge, I recommend doing a wrap of the massive "JEEP" on the tailgate.

I will be doing a wrap on mine when I have a free moment. I am in the camp of "all or nothing" when it comes to de-chroming - with the polished 18s I am a little bit stuck - because I don't want to powder coat 'em, nor fudge with 'em.

I took off all of the rear badges. Then swapped out the stock side and hood emblems for the all black emblems from justforjeeps. Looks slick if you ask me

i would go big or go home. i think the ALT. pkg or the SRT8 letters on the side look alot sharper then the chrome. i also like the hood without the jeep logo or in black or even do a color match.
