Trading Mirror Covers

I have a 2014 Brilliant Black Limited and I am looking to trade my chrome mirror covers with anyone who has some Brilliant Black mirror covers.

I love the look of the body matching mirrors and I already have the black doorhandles on order. Anyone looking for chrome mirror covers?

If anyone else knows of a better way to find body matching mirror covers, that'd be great. Do you think MOPAR will start offering them now that the 2015 Summit+ has body matched mirror covers?

They don't offer the mirror caps in any color other than chrome. You can order the whole mirror in the color of your choice though. I do believe you can order Laredo mirrors and just swap the caps. Looking for Max Steel myself.

Looking for white myself. I find it astonishing that Fiat/Chrysler/Jeep wouldn't sell a mirror cover than can easily be damaged/changed and instead only a very expensive mirror assembly...oh well.
The only option for me is wrapping the mirror cover in bright white vinyl so it can be removed later on...
They should have released the GC with body colour door handles and mirrors, Chrome as option.

Yeah, it is insane to me as well but I have hope that they'll make them available with so many people looking for them and people needing replacements.

I guess it makes sense for them to only sell as whole mirrors, makes them $$$. Silly Jeep.

Fingers crossed they come up with a way to get our hands on some nice body matching mirror colors!

Re: Trading Mirror Covers

Add me to the list of people looking to swap chrome mirrors - in my case, I'm looking for white

Re: Trading Mirror Covers

I have a 2014 Brilliant Black Overland. I put black plasti dip over the chrome and it looks great. It totally matches the black plastic around it. Much cheaper than ordering a new mirror.

Did you fold the mirrors while you were dipping ?

Yes, I folded the mirrors in during spraying to get the inside part easier and tarpped off the car with plastic behind it.

Re: Trading Mirror Covers

I like your technique! Much easier than removing the covers I guess.
I've just ordered 6 white cans for my white Limited and 2 glossifier cans.
I'll dip the shark fin antenna in white while I'm at it.

From what I read on the dipyourcar forum - its a good idea to add 2 coats of anthracite before putting on white.

Not sure, the Anthracite Grey may be an Dipyourcar exclusive?
I'm wondering if I should use black as base? (I have plenty...)
I'll use around 5 coats and by that time white should cover.
Not sure how long this will hold up, mirrors getting plenty abuse...
