Trailer Wiring Harness RARE

Hey guys

i own a Wk2 2014 GC, i bought the mopar receiver, and also the wiring harness kit.

When trying to install the harness, i realized it was for the wk1, because the TIPM was different from the instructions provided, so i went ahead and try to adapt it using the WK2 TIPM wiring. I found out that my car already had all the trailer wiring there, also the fuses, but the is no trailer connector at the back!

So, this towing exclusive cables should go somewhere right? any ideas what is going on? or what can i do?

thanks!!

Re: Trailer Wiring Harness RARE

The proper wiring kit for the WK2 has the rear harness for the 4 & 7 pin connectors at the back. It plugs directly into a connector stub that's under the vehicle in the rear. It's likely best if you get the correct harness stub. Note that your dealer still needs to enable the wiring in the JGC's computer for that wiring to work...not something you can do yourself. And yes, they generally charge for that privilege.

Yep, totally aware of that... i have that plastic thing you re talking about, that clips into the receiver metal thing, i just can't find the round connector on my car, i have looked everywhere for it... and it seems weird that its wired from the TIPM...

am i missing something?

Re: Trailer Wiring Harness RARE

If the vehicle is pre-wired, there should be a connector up around the "frame" near the bumper if I'm not mistaken.

Here's a link to an OEM hitch install tutorial here in this very forum area:

How to: OEM hitch Install

And the location of the wiring:
