Trufiber Carbon Fiber Grill - Pics

Well...if anyone is thinking about buying the Trufiber CF grill here's some pics

aside from the fact that they packed this thing in a HUGE box and allowed it to float around and get destroyed in shipping ...its a VERY nice looking piece...very shiny and smooth finish...the quality looks very good and if it weren't damaged I'd be putting it right on...

I emailed them about the damage and they actually called me right back ...they said they would get this resolved very quickly...i'm happy with their customer service

it actually fits onto the OEM bumper pretty well ...

That thing looks great! Curious though how the grill rings will fit. Doesn't seem to have the tabs for holding them in place like the OEM version has.

This is a one piece grille that doesn't require any grill rings...its a nice clean look

Wow, that looks like the clear coat they applied to the carbon didn't adhere to it correctly.

It cracked/flexed during shipping and the clear coat is totally cracked on one side ..it could probably be repaired but its a lot of work...I'm still hoping they are going to come through and replace this for me

Thats why you dont clear cf and instead use gelcoat. The gelcoat impregnates the fibers instead of cov ering them. This will fail with time even if it wasnt cracked. Even if damaged...gelcoat can be wetsanded and buffed.

Yeah...that makes sense...that means even if I get a new one it'll probably bubble/crack at some point when it gets hit by rocks etc.,..

I'm thinking I will have the new one xpel(clear bra) covered to help protect it as it won't be able to be sanded/buffed

I've spoken with Black Ops and it looks like they may be able to make me a better quality CF grille ...but that's a project for another time ...

Re: Trufiber Carbon Fiber Grill - Pics

Well....SUPER DISAPPOINTED with Trufibers Customer Service...this is the Email I got from them yesterday...what would you do ????

Unfortunately we are unable to file a damaged claim because you have accepted item without signing as damaged. What we can do for you is either assist you with the repair but you will need to provide an estimate for approval or pay $200 for a new one which includes the shipping. If you decide to go with option two then you can keep the damage one.

Trufiber

Thank you,

Sales Team

I told them I would pay for shipping on the new one($100) and never heard back...so I just had to contact my bank and open a claim....WTF ...these guys SUCK ...I paid $750 Shipped for this thing and have a useless POS ...

Re: Trufiber Carbon Fiber Grill - Pics

WTF that is absurd. How are you supposed to know it was damaged? Unless the box was smashed. If you haven't already you should post this up on other jeep forums. Warn other owners of their crap C/S.

Re: Trufiber Carbon Fiber Grill - Pics

I'm going to give them a couple days to make this right..but if they don't then I'm not above going onto every forum and social media outlet I'm part of to blast them and warn others..I've read a lot of bad things about these guys but wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt..I started with a set of mirror covers and then bought their rear carbon step and that went well..so I decided to buy this piece ...this is the last thing I'll ever buy from these guys again

I've already filed a claim with my cc company and I have 90 days to ship this back to them now ..I was really hoping to make this work but not looking good ...I've emailed them a couple times trying to get this resolved with no luck

Beware!!!
