I totally agree with ACPRO. Duh!
The DRLs on my 2003 Saab 9-3 are just the low beam headlights. Saab programmed the low beam headlights on all US cars to always be on. You cannot turn them off when the car is on, which sucks when it's foggy and you want to use only your fog/driving lights. Turning the headlight switch from off to on turns on only two interior instrument backlights; the one for the OnStar system and, ironically, the one for the headlight switch.
