Re: Uneek Rock Sliders for 2016 WK2, getting ready to pull the trigger

All told about $1400 dealer installed... A bit more than the Mopar rails but I really wanted these!

AUD to USD conversion put the rails at $1026 US plus an unexpected $38 foreign transaction fee from my credit card. $295 install plus $44 shop supplies fee and tax. Install was well done with no issues.

You could easily save yourself $ with a self install but I didn't want to mess with it. Stick with the powder coat either gloss or flat black. Color matching would cost more.

Congratulations and I like your subdued choices. Better to wait a little bit, to get it right.

Looking forward to more pics!

Looks great & not a bad price when including installation.

Well now you've done it . . . given Me something else to consider for My 75th Laredo w/ORA1, the 'Recon-izer' ! But, I still have to get those Goodyear w/kevlar ! You hear that Craigslist ? Gonna be a set of Michelin LRR's for sale along with the (Kumho ?) spare - tires only with less than 500 easy break-in miles ~ $400 for the 5. Like you, Lovin' that Recon, especially when clean & shiny !

Those things look great. Definitely throw up a few more pics when you have a chance.

Crap, looks like I missed your post. I'm getting ready to order a set of these myself for my 2014 limited.

How are you liking them so far? Are you actually using them as a step, or do you find yourself stepping out over them when you get in and out?

Nice looking rig!!

Thanks!

I got these primarily for rock protection (stumps and logs too) and they are great for that. They are great steps too but I only use them as steps when in OR2 especially with uneven ground. For day to day driving I do step over them but not a big deal for me. My wife likes them as a step. Normal ride height for me is just not high enough to need them. Also great for accessing the roof!

I just felt I couldn't really call it really trail-rated without them.

It's looking like Uneek will be AUD $1400 (~USD $1067) including air freight to Virginia.

If anyone else is interested in a possible group buy let me know... These should fit perfectly on all but the Summit since its fender flares are just a bit wider.
Excited to order these and throw them on my 2015 Summit, but would LOVE to see a picture of this before I go for it to see exactly how far off it is and if I can handle the look. If anyone has installed the Uneek sliders on their Summit, please let me know and send a pic!

EDIT: Found a pic of the Uneek sliders on a summit

install is otherwise the same.

visually they aren't that different, it's just the small gaps as the end.

Have you tried jacking your Jeep using the rock rails as your attachement point?

it works, but I'd rather not do it assuming you're talking about a hi lift

The rails have no problem supporting the vehicle, but doing so puts the bar of the hi lift extremely close to the body of the Jeep. I'd rather use the hi lift points on my bumpers.

If you're talking about standard jacks, and lifts, yes. I use the corners of the rock rails as my lifting points for both vehicle lifts and floor jacks.
