Re: Unwanted Modification :-(
Damn! That sucks big time!Had a similar incident here in the USA on my hood and windscreen, like you I fortunately had the dash cam going, contacted the trucking company, sent them the video, couldn't apologies enough, paid for all the repairs at my local Dealership, turns out trucks leaving a building site are supposed to go thru a wheel wash( whatever that is ) and this one didn't,guess that's why they were willing to help.Does your footage show enough info to prove?Just know the bill was over $1700 so was pleased I didn't have to eat it. Turns out you can ask for DVT too,(DVT is the devalued price of any vehicle damaged and pushed through insurance repair,i.e. If your vehicle was worth say, $30,000 but due to a noted accident on car fax,but due to the damage its worth $28,000 now,you are entitled to expect a check from the other vehicles Insurer for $2,000 over and above the cost of repairs.), no insurer will disclose this but you ARE entitled to request it and they ARE required to reimburse you the devalued difference.I HAVE over simplified the process, took about 5 months for me to receive a check and in my case the DVT was $977 due to reported hood damage and being replaced/repainted/reported.This is just an FYI and don't know if there is an equivalent in other countries, but is the case in the USA.
I would have had NO knowledge of this, just happened I was advised of this at my Dealerships body shop when I picked my JGC up after repairs.Did a great job too, mine is metallic green, and even at night under a street light, can't see the difference.Hope it helps anyone reading this post who have been unfortunate enough to suffer no fault damage.
