If I read correctly, you were rear-ended.
Where I come from, thats pert-near always the other drivers fault...and thus their bill.
Make sure its done right. Dont ask for more. Dont accept anything less.
If the hitch-cover is toast, odds are the bumper cover is similarly damaged and thus color matching should be less complicated.
If I were in my shoes, Id take it to the dealer, pick up a rental, send the bills to the other guys insurance company and tell them:
"Call me when it's right."
Now....if you managed to get yourself rear-ended by an uninsured utility pole stricken with decades of impudent road rage then you may have a wee bit more difficulty collecting from "the other guy". I would gladly offer you mine because I want to switch to an SRT bumper cover. But mine is whatever color Jeep is calling "black(ish)" and you would be faced with the same color-matching quandary.
