Has anyone vinyl wrapped the chrome window surrounds? If so, how hard was it or did you have a professional install it? I want to chrome delete my altitude, and im trying to figure out if this is something easy that I can do, or if I should take it somewhere...
I also want to get some carbon fiber vinyl and wrap the black wood trim with the CF, kinda like the SRTs...
I did one side and the curves were too hard so I ended up plastidipping those bits and then plastidipped whole other side. I found the vinyl difficult but obviously others may possess more skill and patience than me.
The key to those corners in the rear side windows is to use a large piece of vinyl and cut the actual bend in the vinyl, not to bend the vinyl around the corner. It will neve turn around out bending the vinyl to the corner.
I will be doing my chrome delete in the spring, but won't be using vinyl at all...I bought SEM Trim Black to paint all of it....chrome window trim will be "charcoal" painted. Forget Plasti-Dip, that stuff is garbage.
Save yourself the trouble of using plasti dip. It will be a matter of time before you hate it with a passion. For a wrap I would pay around 200, a lot of shops will try to charge way too much.
I wrapped the window trim myself. Decided that I hate vinyl wrapping. Hired Shop in south Florida to do the Roof, Mirrors, Grill wrapped in 3M gloss black, paid $500 (

I got mine wrapped by Gatorwraps. They have a lot of wraps, 3M Vinyl Wraps or Avery Denison Vinyl Wraps, with lots of types and colors to choose from. You should also check Gatorprints.
I wrapped my window trim myself, used a bit of Avery and 3M. The Avery was easier to work with but the 3M was way better for removing air bubbles. The job was not hard at all just takes patience and about two hours of your time.
An ultra sharp blade makes a huge difference as well.
I had mine "professionally" viny wrapped and while it looks much better than the chrome, I'll be getting it redone after I move...the company did a poor job and went out of business...go figure. I looked into replacing all the chrome trim pieces with the gloss black trim (Altitude, SRT, etc.)...not cheap. Two body shop estimates are about $2500. You can save a few hundred dollars ordering parts on your own. The really expensive part is that the rear quarter windows and trim are single pieces.
