Will I have to forego the automatic and switch to hand washing? Any feedback would greatly be appreciated. Thanks!

It should be pointed out that, unless I'm mistaken, there is no actual chrome on the vehicle. It's all just colored plastic.

Therefore, it should react perfect well to vinyl being applied since they are like substances that will retain similar heat and moisture reaction properties, unlike attempting to apply it to actual metal.

Re: Vinyl Wrap Durability

I'm in Massachusetts and had my trim professionally wrapped about 6 months ago

I have a car wash pass that allows me to wash as much as I want..so I'm typically going through the wash about 3 times a week or more

My wrap job still looks perfect and shows no signs of peeling ..we had a mild winter here but I still did a lot of window scraping and no problems with the vinyl..I think it's well worth the 90$ I paid to have it done

I did matte because it was cohesive with the rest of the car, including the matte black grill inserts, oem blacked textured fender flares, side skirts, rear and front fascia. If you have an altitude, I'd suggest gloss.

Thats why I want to go with satin, now maybe matte. I really like the subtle look over the gloss on the window trim.

I don't have an altitude. I just have some black accents.

I have a roll of satin coming in for my center dash bezel. I'm going to put a strip of satin on the window trim to see how it looks before I order the big roll.

Satin sounds like a good compromise

Yes. Been hitting the automatic car wash for about the last 8 months. No peeling, stripping, or fading.

Re: Vinyl Wrap Durability

I did mine solo with 3M gloss black wrap from Amazon. I always wash by hand. Make sure to use a heat gun or hair dryer to really get the vinyl to adhere to trim. Also-if you are going to do it I would wait till temp is above 50 degrees min. In hindsight to do it again, I would pay someone. Low $ for a pro given the labor to do it yourself.

Yeah I think I may go with satin, it's also a little darker than the matte.
